Here are a selection of some of the more popular questions potential clients have.


How do I contact you?

Because I am either rattling pans, hunter gathering at the grocery store or looking after a client the best way to reach me is through email at darren@eatingroyally.com

How will I know how to re-heat my food?

All of your dishes will be packaged, stored and labeled with heating instructions.

Can I change my menu each week?

Absolutely! Some of my clients have the same meal twice a week, some like to stick with the tried and tested that the family love and maybe add in a different dish once in a while. Maybe you have a “family recipe” you would like me to add to your order each week or perhaps you have a family member or client coming into town that “just has to have beef tenderloin”

Do you have a cancellation policy?

You are free to cancel the service anytime after a delivery, just as you are free to start up again anytime. I ask that out of courtesy you please give me 72 hours notice of cancellation. No one likes to see groceries wasted.

How do I pay you and when?

You can pay by check, cash or credit card when I deliver the food. I will leave you the grocery invoice and will add the cost of my service (check on the services page) I don’t ask for money up front. You trust me with feeding your family. I in turn trust you to pay for your groceries and my services.

Do I need to be there?

I need to be able to get access to your refrigerator but you don’t have to be in the kitchen while I am cooking. In fact I prefer to be left alone to focus on getting you the best service. I am always happy to talk though, offer cooking tips, talk best restaurants, chat about the Royal family… though have much more time to do this if you decide to get a group together for a cooking class or private dinner party.

Do I need to prepare my kitchen for your arrival?

Because a lot of the work is done in my professional kitchen I just need workspace in yours to “finish off the dishes” and transfer to your own Pyrex dishes.

Who needs a personal chef – who are your clients?

Personal chefs used to just be for celebrities. Nowadays with professional people so busy and the service as affordable as eating out – though without the hassle – many people are choosing to use a personal chef service. “Eating Royally” is ideal for families on the move, busy professional couples and seniors and singles that travel.

What areas do you serve?

Currently I serve the Dallas area.

Who does the cooking?

I will personally plan your menu, grocery shop your ingredients and cook your food using my own recipes. Occasionally my assistant will step in for me (e.g. when I am taping a TV segment) but the food will still be prepared to my high standard.

Do you cook the food in my home?

Your meals will be prepared in my professional kitchen and brought to your home in disposable containers then transferred to your Pyrex glass dishes and placed in your refrigerator. This means your Pyrex containers never leave your house. It also allows me to offer dishes on my menu like braised lamb shanks, smoked brisket and other slow cooked foods as well as using the modern cooking concepts and equipment in my own professional kitchen. Have you ever tried a “sous-vide” steak?

How often will you come to my home?

“Cook dates” are scheduled according to your specific needs of three, four or five entrees each with an appropriate side on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis.
